As I walked a few blocks to work this morning after parking my car, I passed the bus transfer station. To my amazement and shock I spotted a homeless person sleeping on the cold, hard cement in a sleeping bag, using his wordly possessions in a plastic bag as a pillow. What a very sobering experience. I have seen very many homeless people in larger cities, but this is the first time I've seen one so close to home.
Home takes on a new meaning and significance after passing that scene. Home, car, job and life mean so much more to me. I don't know what changes this will make in my life, but I am so moved by it that I know it will be with me for a very long time.
